Nexus DocStudio Privacy Policy

App: Nexus DocStudio
Developer: NexusAppSuites, India
Support & Privacy Desk: nexusappsuites@gmail.com
Your documents never leave your device unless you explicitly share or export them. Document scanning, camera edge-detection, Tesseract OCR text extraction, Malayalam & Indian Unicode font shaping, text editing, PDF compression, encryption, and digital signing are performed entirely locally on your Android device.
1. Zero Cloud Uploads & Offline Operation
Nexus DocStudio operates fully offline. The application does not maintain external developer servers or remote storage infrastructure. Your documents, photos, scanned pages, draft edits, annotations, and OCR indexes exist solely within your device's private app storage or public folders you explicitly select.
2. Camera & Document Scanning
When you use the scanner feature, camera access is requested strictly to capture photographs of physical documents, books, or ID cards. Captured frames are analyzed in real time for edge detection, corner snapping, and perspective correction directly in your device’s memory. No video feeds or photographs are ever transmitted outside your phone.
3. Tesseract OCR & Text Recognition
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is powered by an on-device Tesseract optical engine. Whether processing Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, English, or any of the 15+ supported regional languages, optical recognition runs locally on your processor without communicating with third-party cloud AI APIs.
4. Document Content & File Permissions
When you open a file, Nexus DocStudio accesses only the file you pick via Android’s system file picker or folders you designate. The files you open are never overwritten; edits are saved as new copies in the app’s library or as drafts on your device. If you choose Replace original, the earlier library copy moves to the app’s Trash, where you can restore it.
All files access (optional). The On this device screen lists the PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents saved on your phone (for example by WhatsApp or your browser), so you can open, organise and clean them up in one place. The app explains this and asks first; only then does Android show its “Allow access to manage all files” switch. You can decline and keep using the file picker. With this access the app reads only document files — never your photos, messages or other files — and nothing is uploaded, because the app has no internet access. You can withdraw the access at any time in Android Settings › Apps › Nexus DocStudio.
Search inside documents (optional, off by default). If you turn it on, the app reads the text of the documents on your phone in the background — one file at a time and only when the battery is not low — so you can find them by any word they contain. Each file is read once; new files are read as they arrive. The text is used only for this search, is kept in the app’s private storage encrypted with a key held in the Android Keystore, is excluded from backups and device transfer, and never leaves the app. Turning the option off deletes the text and the key.
Duplicate copies. On this device compares documents of exactly the same size to find identical copies. Copies are removed only after you confirm; on Android 11 and later they go to Android’s Trash, where the Files app can restore them for 30 days.
Notifications (optional). Used only to remind you of due or expiry dates you add to documents. Reminders are scheduled on your phone.
5. No User Accounts, Telemetry, or Ads
Nexus DocStudio requires no registration, username, or login account. The app includes zero advertising SDKs, no behavioral user profiling, and no third-party analytics trackers.
6. Google Play In-App Purchases (Nexus DocStudio Pro)
Payments for the optional Nexus DocStudio Pro subscription are handled securely through Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your credit card, debit card, bank account, or UPI payment credentials. The app checks your subscription status with the Google Play app on your device to unlock Pro and to restore it; because the app has no internet access and no developer server, your purchase details and tokens are never sent to us.
7. Biometric Security & App Lock
If you enable the App Lock feature, device authentication (fingerprint, face unlock, or your screen lock PIN, pattern or password) is handled through Android's BiometricPrompt framework. Biometric data is stored in your device's hardware security chip and is never accessible to Nexus DocStudio.
8. Support Communications
When you contact us via email, your email address and message content are used solely to investigate your issue and respond. We do not sell or share support inquiries with third parties.
